MACH22
is not a band; it’s an
experience. With a sound that pays tribute to Living Colour, Lenny
Kravitz, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin; MACH22 is changing the face of rock in
the US with every performance. They’ve played some of
Philadelphia's
most prestigious venues, Khyber, Five-Spot, M-Room and North Star
Bar.
The band quickly gained quick notoriety on the east coast; recently
landing them in NYC’s most talked about rock clubs such as Fat
Baby,
Don Hills, SOB’s and the legendary CBGB’s. MACH22 have
taken their
sound across the pond, having performed at London’s premier live
music
venue, Jazz Café in London England, where their Rock fusion
sound was
met with high praise, opening up for Interscope / Universal Music
Recording artist, Bilal.
The Philadelphia Rock scene is an exploding galaxy of stars but none
shines as brilliantly or bangs as big as MACH22.
MACH22 started as the brainchild of
Lamont Caldwell who wanted an outlet for his vocal songwriting. With
his vast expertise as a very accomplished saxophonist who has performed
and toured with such artists as Jay-Z, The Roots and Dave Matthews
Band; Lamont (singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer), has a knack for
writing catchy lyrics and entrancing melodies that drives the
band’s sound. His true passion is in “conveying [his]
message.” and his lack of pretense gives way to a poetic honesty
that comes cloaked in blues and rock alike. Lead Guitarist Dai Miyazaki
has a groove and sound that is untouchable with chops to match adding
various harmonic dimensions. Bassist Mike Snyder lays down lines that
are deep and rumbly with the unmistakable attack of ‘80s power
rock and metal keeping the groove. The final member of this rock
4-piece is Sean McFadden on drums who's playing has grit and dirt that
makes the band unique in a time of musical monotony. MACH22 carries the
spirit of raw, animal classic rock with classically soulful vocals,
which is nice to hear in this day and age.
Music is in need of a change that is
long over due - Experience MACH22.
